Live Oak Community Montessori was founded in 2001 to bring the best facets of Montessori -- multi-age classrooms, a cooperative learning environment, peace education, exemplary work materials and methods -- to a uniquely smaller classroom that incorporates an emphasis on nature, community, and imagination. Unlike traditional Montessori schools, Live Oak offers part-time schedules and low student-to-teacher ratios. We recognize the importance of individualized learning, imaginative play and time spent outdoors to child development.
